Using standby mode with the YouView app

For the YouView app to work the way it's meant to, we need your box to be available when sending recording requests. That can be while it's switched on or while it's in active standby. 

If your box goes into deep sleep, then we'll lose connection with the app and won't be able to send recording requests through.

The standby mode, Energy Saver, is the only mode that puts your box into deep sleep. Using this mode means you can't use the app. If you try to set up the app in this mode, we'll automatically change your standby mode to Smart Standby.

If the standby mode is set to Always Ready you will be able to connect your mobile device; however we recommend Smart Standby mode for the best performance.
