Box won't switch on
We understand how worrying this could be. It sounds like there may be a power issue with your box. We recommend trying these steps:
  1. Check your connections
    First check the plug is securely connected to your mains and is switched on. Once you’ve done that, head around the back of your box and check the power lead is connected to the power port. Then check the power switch is set to the on position.

    Do you have any lights on the box?
     
    • YES

      Try turning the box on pressing the button on the box.
     
    • NO

      Skip to Step 5
  2. Use your remote
    It could be the buttons on the box aren’t working, try using the remote control to turn the box on.
  3. Check the TV
    Double check the HDMI or Scart cable is securely connected to your box and TV. Then use your TV remote control to check you are on the correct Source / Input channel.
  4. Restart your box
    The old “switch it off and on” routine. Overused but it can often help resolve the issue. Press and hold the YouView button on the top or front of your box for 8 seconds, then let go. You’ll be greeted with a friendly ‘Hello’ telling you that your box has restarted.
  5. Further help
    We’d suggest contacting your box provider for further help or if you have a retail box, contact the box manufacturer instead.
