1. Check your HDMI connections
Your HDMI cable might be acting up. Disconnect it from your YouView box and TV and then reconnect it.
Still not working? Try using a different HDMI cable.
2. Restart your box
The old “switch it on and off” routine. Overused but it can often help resolve the issue. Press and hold the button on your box for 8 seconds, then let go. You’ll be greeted with a friendly ‘Hello’ telling you that your box has restarted.
3. Change the channel
Simple but effective. Try changing the channel and then going back to the original channel.
4. Try to use the menu
Your screen might be blank because the channel your on is off air or has no signal. Press the button and see if the menu pops up. If it does, try opening the guide and changing to another channel.
If the channel is experiencing a weak or lost signal then we’ll give you an on screen error message. Try these steps if you are seeing that message.
5. Further help
We didn’t think you’d end up here, but thanks for trying all the above steps. We’d suggest contacting your box provider for further help.
