A YouView on Sony FAQ

With YouView on Sony you are able to use subtitles and audio description where available.

Standard Remote

  1. Press the HOME button
  2. Scroll down to and select Settings
  3. Select Channel Setup and choose Digital Setup
  4. Select Audio Set-Up
  5. Select Audio Settings and choose your preferred setting

Tip: You can also turn on/off Audio Description by pressing the Audio button on the remote control. This will only affect the channel you are on.

Touchpad Remote

  1. Press the HOME button
  2. Scroll down to and select Settings
  3. Select Channel Setup and choose Digital Setup
  4. Select Audio Set-Up
  5. Select Audio Settings and choose your preferred setting

Standard Remote

  1. Press the HOME button
  2. Scroll down to and select Settings
  3. Select Channel Setup and choose Digital Setup
  4. Select Subtitle Set-Up
  5. Select Subtitle Settings and choose your preferred setting

Tip: You can also turn on/off subtitles by pressing the  button on the remote control. This will only affect the channel you are on.

Touchpad Remote

  1. Press the HOME button
  2. Scroll down to and select Settings
  3. Select Channel Setup and choose Digital Setup
  4. Select Subtitle Set-Up
  5. Select Subtitle Settings and choose your preferred setting

Although subtitles should work on live TV, there are occasions where the subtitles may not be present for On-Demand content. If this happens, please contact the Content Provider.

Not all content will have Audio Description available however you can check if it is available by pressing the Info button on your remote and checking to see if it says '[AD]' on the Action Panel. Subtitle availability is indicated by the 'S' in the Action Panel.
