Box won't switch on

A YouView Box FAQ

We understand how worrying this could be. It sounds like there may be a power issue with your box. We recommend trying these steps:

First check the plug is securely connected to your mains and is switched on. Once you’ve done that, head around the back of your box and check the power lead is connected to the power port. Then check the power switch is set to the on position.

Do you have any lights on the box?
 

YES

Try turning the box on pressing the button on the box.

NO

Skip to Step 5

It could be the buttons on the box aren’t working, try using the remote control to turn the box on.

Double check the HDMI or Scart cable is securely connected to your box and TV. Then use your TV remote control to check you are on the correct Source / Input channel.

The old “switch it on and off” routine. Overused but it can often help resolve the issue. Press and hold the  supportSiteInlineImage button on your box for 8 seconds, then let go. You’ll be greeted with a friendly ‘Hello’ telling you that your box has restarted.
