A YouView Box FAQ

Not able to change your volume using the YouView remote? It could be your settings need adjusting or an issue with the remote. Try these steps:

YouView has its own volume control, separate to your TV. If you’ve set your HDMI sound setting to surround, then your YouView volume will be disabled. You would need to use your surround sound system volume control instead. If you’re not using a surround sound system then check the HDMI sound setting is set to stereo: 

  1. Open the Menu
  2. Select Settings*
  3. From Box management select Picture & Sound
  4. Select HDMI sound
  5. Select Stereo
  6. Select Done

*Settings can be found via the cog in the top right corner of the Menu. You can get to the cog by pressing Up and right after opening the Menu.

You might need to reset your remote control. We have a few different remotes so pick your remote here and try the instructions.

The old “switch it on and off” routine. Overused but it can often help resolve the issue. Press and hold the  supportSiteInlineImage button on your box for 8 seconds, then let go. You’ll be greeted with a friendly ‘Hello’ telling you that your box has restarted.
