Set up parental controls
Here’s a walkthrough on how to set up parental controls in a few quick steps:
Viewers could see some disruption to their TV reception from Wednesday the 15th to Sunday 19th January 2025. This is due to high pressure which could disrupt the TV signals.
This may cause YVM302 errors on YouView devices. If you are affected by this, please don't retune your box until the high pressure system has passed, as this can sometimes make the problem worse.
Here’s a walkthrough on how to set up parental controls in a few quick steps:
When you first set up YouView you will be asked to set up a Parental PIN. This will help you take control of your Parental Control settings.
1. Press the Home button on your TV Hub remote 2. Settings can be found via the cog at the top of the Menu. 3. Select TV settings 4. Select Change Parental Control PIN 5. Enter your Pin (default is 1234) 6. Select New Parental PIN 7. Enter a new PIN 8. Re-enter your new PIN 9. Press Back to return to the main menu
If you want to protect your family from inappropriate content there are two places you can set parental controls. 1. Press the Home button on your TV Hub remote 2. Settings can be found via the cog at the top of the Menu. 3. Select TV settings 4. Select Restrict Channels & Content 5. Enter your Pin (default is 1234) 6. There are two options and you need to press OK on your remote to toggle the options on/off: a. Hide Adult Content will block all adult channels & categories b. Restrict Rated Programmes, if this is selected then a specific age rating range can be chosen (blocking PG & Over, 12 and Over, 15 and over or 18) If you wish to remove the Parental Controls follow the same steps but deselect the relevant option(s)
