Changing HDMI resolution

A YouView Box FAQ

Not all HDTV’s have the same HDMI resolution. You can change the resolution in the settings menu to match your TV:

To change your HDMI resolution, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Main Menu

  2. Select Settings*

  3. From Box Management select Picture & Sound

  4. Select HDMI display setting

  5. Choose your preferred setting. If you are using an Ultra HD box, make sure your box is set up correctly first.

  6. We'll ask you if you want to keep this setting, select Keep

  7. If your TV goes blank after changing the setting, please wait 15 seconds

  8. Select Done

*Depending on your box model, Settings will be on the last tab on the Main Menu or in a cog in the top right corner of the screen. You can get to the cog by pressing Up after opening the Main Menu.

Please note: All YouView boxes support 720p, 1080i and 1080p resolutions (i=interlaced / p=progressive).

If your TV does not support higher HD resolution such as 1080P or UHD you can reduce the resolution to 720p (most HDTVs should support this).

If you want to switch to 720p quickly, we have a secret button combination:

  1. Press Help

  2. Press 7 > 2 > 0

  3. Select Ok
